Alubihod Beach is located in Guimaras island in central part of the Philippines referred to as the Visayan Islands. Guimaras' claim to fame was that it was the late General Douglas MacArthur's first military assignment after graduation from West Point. The wharf that he had constructed in the early 20th century located in the town of Buenavista is still very much in use.

Freelance Beach Resort are primarily family oriented. Just wholesome fun for lovers, student groups, seminars, receptions or social gatherings. There is not a lot of nightlife, but some people prefer it that way. Away from the maddening crowd.

The native cottages have running water for individual bath and toilets. Electric fans are available when it gets too humid during summer months. The cottage is built of modern materials, but inside native materials are used as a motif. Even the beds are made of coco-lumber and bamboo. It is a compromise for the sake of ecology.

During the pre-Hispanic era in the Philippines, the preferred Austronesian methods for food preparation were boiling, steaming and roasting. The ingredients for common dishes were obtained from locally raised livestock.
