IGaCoS Mariculture Park
Located in the storm-sheltered waters of IGaCoS, this 224-hectare facility has a similar concept with the establishment of an industrial estate in land areas. A showcase of new fisheries development strategy that puts premium on transforming coastal communities into centers of growth and prosperity, it has been acclaimed as champion in the 2002 nationwide competition for Best Practices in Good Governance sponsored by the League of Cities of the Philippines. The international community through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has also taken cognizance of the park as one of the best three Urban Governance Innovations Facilities in Asia.

SanipaanShoal
Also called Vanishing Island, half of the 80-hectare shoal emerges as sand bar during low tide but vanishes during high tide creating the illusion of vacationing in the midst of the open seas.

IGaCoS Mangrovetum
Considered as Mindanao’s First Mangrovetum, it serves as a laboratory for dendrological, educational, eco-tourism and phonological and other scientific studies on the mangrove ecosystem.

Bat Sanctuary
An indication of IGaCoS’ sound ecological system, the bat cave hosts gazillions of fruit bats, located at Barangay Tambo, Babak District.

Bandera Nature’s Park and Botanical Garden
A tribute to Mother Nature, this 11.5-hectare government-owned park at barangay Bandera is envisioned to be the sanctuary of nature lovers with over a hundred species of trees, flower gardens and several eco-theme park amenities.

Main Dishes Philippine Cuisine

Adobo is one of the most popular Filipino dishes and is considered unofficially by many as the national dish. It usually consists of pork or chicken, sometimes both, stewed or braised in a sauce usually made from vinegar, cooking oil, garlic, bay leaf, peppercorns, and soy sauce. It can also be prepared "dry" by cooking out the liquid and concentrating the flavor. Bistek, also known as "Filipino beef steak," consists of thinly sliced beef marinated in soy sauce and calamansi and then fried in a skillet that is typically served with onions.
