La Union Botanical Garden, San Fernando, La Union
La Union Botanical Garden is situated on a hilly twenty-hectare land, eight kilometers east form the city proper of San Fernando, La Union, with fully maintained concrete roads. The first of its kind in the Philippines, a scientific garden and the center for laboratory research in Northern Luzon was inaugurated on March 2, 1996.
La Union Centennial Tree, Bacnotan, La Union
In the municipality of Bacnotan, which is widely popular for its cement deposits and Sea Urchins, there’s a Barangay called Carcarmay, named after a tree that bears a sour-sweet yellowish fruit that grows abundant in the area. It is not however famous because of Carmay but because of an Acacia tree that has become the place’s witness of its growth in the various stages of our history. More than a hundred years old, it still stands majestically at the center of Carcarmay Community School, giving shade to countless graduation rites and various school and community programs.
The oldest living thing in the area, this huge tree from the Mimosa family, provide priceless comfort to residents and visitors alike. Its green and cool leaves from its huge and long branches are comfortable and relaxing to the eyes. Like a mother, taking good care of the children.
Bolikewkew Rice Terraces
The main livelihood of the townspeople of Burgos, La Union which is farming, manifest itself in this breathtaking view of green fields. This rice fields located at Bolikewkew, Delles, Burgos is a peek of Banaue Rice Terraces. The mountains surrounding these terraces are good venues for hiking and mountain climbing.
Amburayan River
This river serves as boundary of La Union and Ilocos Sur which also serves as additional source of income for the people of Sudipen.
