The City of Manila, or simply Manila or Maynila, is the capital of the Philippines and one of the 17 cities and municipalities that make up Metro Manila. It is located on the eastern shores of Manila Bay, on the western portion of the National Capital Region, in the western side of Luzon. Manila is one of the central hubs of a thriving metropolitan area home to over 19 million people.. As of 2009, Manila ranks as the world's eleventh largest metropolitan area and the fifth largest urban area by population. Manila is also ranked as one of the most densely populated cities in the world. The city itself had more than 100 parks scattered throughout the city. Nearly constant sun makes this city an excellent choice for tourists. The weather in Manila is generally pleasant year-round, with the average lowest temperature being 67 degrees Fahrenheit (21 Celsius) and the highest being roughly 97 degrees Fahrenheit (34 Celsius). Anyone that otherwise suffers during the cold winter should consider a trip to Manila, as there is sunny excitement to be experienced year-round. Booking a Manila hotel is quite a simple task, and in fact anyone can set up a nice room in minutes if they choose to book online.
