Philippine Racquet Sports

* Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played by either two opposing players (singles) or two opposing pairs (doubles), who take positions on opposite halves of a rectangular court that is divided by a net. Players score points by striking a shuttlecock with their racquets so that it passes over the net and lands in their opponents' half of the court. A rally ends once the shuttlecock has struck the ground, and the shuttlecock may only be struck once by each side before it passes over the net.
Badminton is an Olympic sport with five competitive disciplines: men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles, and mixed doubles, in which each pair is a man and a woman. At high levels of play, the sport demands excellent fitness: players require aerobic stamina, strength, and speed. It is also a technical sport, requiring good hand-eye coordination and the development of sophisticated racket skills.

* Squash
Squash tennis is an American variant of squash racquets, but played with a ball and racquets that are closer to the equipment used for lawn tennis, and with somewhat different rules. For younger players the game offers the complexity of squash racquets and the speed of racquetball. It also has exercise and recreational potential for older players. The Squash Rackets Association of the Philippines (SRAP)[1]is the governing body for the sport of squash in the Philippines since 1975. Squash is a private sport organization, recognized as the National Sport Association (NSA) for squash. The Squash Rackets of the Philippines is a regular member of the Philippine Olympic Committee. The SRAP Philippines is accredited by the World Squash Federation which is the governing body fot the sport of squash in the world. It is also accredited by the Asian Squash Federation.

* Table Tennis
Table tennis (also commonly known as ping pong), is a sport in which two or four players hit a ball back and forth to each other with paddles (also called bats). The game takes place on a table divided by a net. Players must allow a ball played towards them only one bounce on their side of the table and must return it so that it bounces on the opponent's side. Play is fast and demands quick reactions. A skilled player can impart spin to the ball, which makes its bounce and its reaction on the opponent's bat difficult to predict or return with confidence.

Table tennis is very popular, especially in East Asia and is among the most popular sports in the world in terms of player numbers, as well as one of the newest of the major sports. In Philippines (ping pong) is the name for the sport.

* Tennis
Tennis is a game played between two players (singles) or between two teams of two players (doubles).

Players use a stringed racquet to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over a net into the opponent's court. Originating in Europe in the late 19th century, tennis spread first throughout the English-speaking world, particularly among the upper classes. Tennis is now once again an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society, by all ages, and in many countries around the world. Except for the adoption of the tie-breaker in the 1970s, its rules have remained remarkably unchanged since the 1890s. Along with its millions of players, millions of people follow tennis as a spectator sport, especially the four Grand Slam tournaments: Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and the U.S. Open.
